How do lifestyle family photography sessions work?

My lifestyle photography sessions are documentary style shoots that incorporate portraiture and photojournalism.

Basically, I combine the traditional “ sit and smile ” photos with a little candid laughter, small chit-chat, and some fun shenanigans by the sea.

Outdoor photo sessions are shot about an hour before sunset , and thirty minutes before sunrise, to ensure for the best possible lighting. I can also come to local parks, wooded trails, the boardwalk, or even your own home.

Documentary photography truly can happen anywhere! All I need is YOU to make for a great session.

How would you describe your style?

Hmmm, that’s a tough one! So much of what I do happens in the moment.

Basically, I have been photographing families and weddings for over 20 years. And, I work with everyday real people, NOT models. So, I bring my experience and technical skills to the energy of the moment. I want to capture your family or event as genuinely as possible.

Ok, maybe that’s a bit to woo woo. Mostly, I love to get creative, have fun with you and your people, and get some great photos when it’s all said an done.

What about weddings? What’s your approach?

First of all, Weddings are my Jam!

My approach to weddings is simple.

Your wedding day will begin with moments of getting ready, special time with your friends and family, and preparation. Simple things like hair, makeup, and bowties will become rituals of teamwork and togetherness.

From those moments, to the ceremony, toasts, dances and cake. My job is to be there, pay attention with a curious eye and turn them into a bit of art.

As I follow along with my camera throughout your day, my style goes from free flow to organized.

Your job is to just be in the moment, celebrate, and have fun! I mean, celebration is the name of game!
